- *Euphoria*'s controversial series finale drew a cryptic response from star Zendaya's mother.

- Claire Stoermer wrote on Instagram that the final episode "definitely made me sad."

- She explained she felt "other emotions as well," but she's "just gonna leave it right there" for now.

As did the rest of the world, Zendaya's mom had a *lot* of strong opinions about *Euphoria*'s divisive final season — but, she revealed in a somewhat shady social media message that she's mostly keeping them to herself for now.

Following Sunday's series finale with the conclusion of season 3, episode 8 — which (spoiler alert) featured the death of her daughter's lead character, Rue Bennett — Claire Stoermer posted a short note to her Instagram Story.

"Lots of messages in my DM’s from people about last night’s episode. I’m gonna keep my thoughts to myself," Stoermer wrote against a rainbow backdrop.

She shared several other posts to her Instagram Story timeline, including tributes to Zendaya's performance and a scene from the finale that paid tribute to Angus Cloud, the former *Euphoria* star who died in 2023 from an overdose that included a mix of fentanyl and other drugs.

"Definitely made me sad…." Stoermer continued in her initial post, emphasizing a dramatic pause with an extended ellipses. "And other emotions as well. But just gonna leave it right there……"

Stoermer has weighed in this year with cryptic posts about a range of her daughter's public-facing activities, including after Zendaya's stylist, *RuPaul's Drag Race* judge Law Roach, announced that Zendaya and longtime partner and fellow *Spider-Man* film series star Tom Holland had secretly married.

"The laugh...." Zendaya's mom wrote over footage of Roach revealing the information at the 2026 Actor Awards.

As for Zendaya's thoughts on the end of *Euphoria*, which she first led the cast of in 2019, the actress has yet to make a significant statement about the series finale.

In a network-released video that played at the end of Sunday night's episode, however, a brief piece of footage showed Zendaya making a statement on set to the cast and crew after she wrapped her scenes.

"I just wanted to say thank you. I'm incredibly grateful for every single one of you," Zendaya said while standing in front of a celebratory cake, growing visibly emotional as she continued. "Many of you have been here from the beginning and watched me grow up. It's been such a pleasure and an honor. Thank you so much."**

Hunter Schafer, Zendaya's costar across all three seasons, lauded the actress as her "soulmate," and said that, "Z is going to be somebody I'm talking to when I'm old. I love her to the moon and back."
