- Luke Grimes and Kelly Reilly believe a *Dutton Ranch* and *Marshals* crossover is “necessary.”
- Grimes revealed that he and Reilly have spoken about what a reunion would mean for their *Yellowstone* characters.
- “It would make sense down the line we’d at least talk,” he said.
Luke Grimes says he and Kelly Reilly are keeping their fingers crossed for at least one more Dutton family reunion.
The actor, 42, revealed in a recent* **TV Insider* interview why he and Reilly believe that it’s “necessary” to have a crossover event between their respective *Yellowstone* spinoffs, *Marshals* and *Dutton Ranch*, sometime in the future.
“It’s not out of the question that we might have some sort of crossover at some point,” he told the outlet. “Beth’s basically Kayce’s only living family member other than Tate [Brecken Merrill]. It would make sense that down the line we’d at least talk.”

Grimes continued, “[Kelly and I have] texted about it back and forth a lot, talked about how it’d be fun and necessary for our story arcs, however they’re going to end.”
Both Grimes and Reilly have gone on to lead their own shows following the conclusion of *Yellowstone* in 2024. Grimes reprised his role as Kayce Dutton on CBS’ *Marshals*, while Reilly and Cole Hauser are holding down the fort over in Texas as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler on Paramount+’s *Dutton Ranch*.

This isn’t the first time that a member of the trio has expressed their interest in reuniting onscreen. Back in July, Reilly and Hauser both shared just how much they miss working with Grimes.
“What I will say is I’d love to work with Luke. We saw him in New York for the Upfronts, Kelly and I both, and I just love him, man. I miss him,” Hauser told *TV Insider* at the time, to which Reilly added, “I miss him too.”
Hauser continued, “I love people that we’ve worked with over the years in *Yellowstone*, but the fact that he’s on his show and we’re on this show, if there’s a way to somewhere down the road do something special where he comes and visits us or if we go to Montana, great.”

But, before any big reunions, Grimes is set to return at Kayce in the upcoming season of *Marshals*. The drama, which premieres on Oct. 4, will see his character dealing with the immediate aftermath of his son, Tate, being kidnapped at the end of the season 1 finale.
Speaking with **, Grimes confirmed that the second season will feature “more of the same things” that he loved about the first.

“We’re going a little bit more into some backstory, which we started to do in season 1 anyway,” he said. “You know so much about Kayce already, but I feel like the other characters are starting to catch up as far as their relationship with the audience. But as far as like the tone, the pace, it’s a lot of the same things that I liked about the first season.”
Grimes also noted that he’s a little worried that Kayce may be too much of a “Debbie Downer” in season 2, given all of the immense heartbreaks he’s suffered in his life. But, while his personal life may be in shambles, Kayce always succeeds professionally.
“That’s what’s fun about it: This guy can go through literally everything and still get back up,” he adds. “That’s what I think is really attractive about the character.”
