- The *Today* host’s mother has been missing since February.
- Janney said at the Emmys that she thinks about Nancy “every day.”
Savannah Guthrie is “so touched” that Allison Janney spoke about her missing mother at the Emmys.
After winning the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series on Monday night, Janney mentioned Nancy Guthrie, who has not been seen in over seven months.
“I honestly can say I think about her every day, and think about the loss and what Savannah and her family are going through,” the *Diplomat* star said backstage. “And I don’t think I’m alone, too. I think all of America was thinking about her.”
On Tuesday morning’s edition of *Today*, Savannah reacted to Janney’s comments.
“I was so touched to see her do that,” she shared. “It’s her moment, her triumph, and for her to sit and just take a moment and think about our family.”
She continued, “I never let a moment pass if I get one to talk about my mom, and how much we miss her and love her, and my whole family, my sister and my brother and I, and all of our extended families are in such pain. We need help. So, thank you, Allison Janney, for remembering us and for giving an opportunity for me to renew that call. We just want our mom home [to] give her a proper goodbye. That’s all.”
Nancy was reported missing from her home in Tucson, Ariz., on Feb. 1 after the 84-year-old woman was last seen on the evening of Jan. 31. Her home was soon declared a crime scene, with investigators believing that she was taken against her will. The FBI has stated that her disappearance is being investigated as a kidnapping for ransom case.

The search for Nancy has entered its seventh month with no arrests or major breakthroughs. Savannah has continued to ask the public for help locating her missing mother, and Savannah’s cohost Willie Geist reminded audiences on Tuesday to call 1-800-CALL-FBI with any information. “You can call anonymously,” Savannah added. “Our family needs you.”

Savannah Guthrie returns to ‘Today’ after 2-week absence
Savannah was off of *Today* for the first two months after her mother’s disappearance, before officially returning in April. Ahead of that, she sat down for an emotional interview with Hoda Kotb, who filled in for her during the absence.
“Someone needs to do the right thing,” Savannah said through tears. “It is unbearable. And to think of what she went through. I wake up every night in the middle of the night, every night. And in the darkness, I imagine her terror. And it is unthinkable, but those thoughts demand to be thought.”
