Clint Eastwood has quietly retired from Hollywood after a prolific career spanning almost seven decades, according to his son, Kyle Eastwood.

"I have many fond memories of working with him," Kyle, a musician and composer, said in a recently resurfaced video from November 2025 as he performed on stage at the Maison de la Culture in France. "Now he's retired. He's 95 years old."

Kyle, 58, added that he was "very lucky" to have the opportunity to collaborate with his father on "quite a few films."

"It was a great experience for me," he said.

While the actor has not publicly announced his retirement, earlier in November 2018, when the now-late Robert Redfordremarked that "The Old Man & the Gun" would likely be his acting swan song, an 88-year-old Eastwood told USA TODAY his interest in acting and directing hasn't dwindled.

"Maybe I just don't want a certain volume of work, but, no, it hasn't lessened. I love what I do," Eastwood said at the time. "I'll probably keep on going. I feel good, but it depends on material. I probably wouldn't do something just because it was marginal – I have to kind of think it has some validity and has some relationship to today."

Eastwood's reps did not immediately respond to USA TODAY's request for more information on June 3.
