Prince Harry made a solo appearance to support his pal José Andrés latest cookbook release party in Los Angeles.

On June 1, it was revealed that the Duke of Sussex, 41, attended the event celebrating the publication of Andrés' new book, Spain My Way: Eat, Drink, and Cook Like a Spaniard.

The bash was held on Wednesday, May 27, at Andrés' restaurant San Laurel at the Conrad Los Angeles hotel, and Maria Shriver, Kyra Sedgwick, Tyler James Williams, Wolfgang Puck and Roy Choi also attended.

Spain My Way is touted as a "lively collection of José Andrés’ most beloved recipes from his home country" and was published on May 19, coinciding with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's eighth wedding anniversary.

The May 27 release party fell on the same day that the cookbook was named a New York Times bestseller and guests were served Spanish-inspired passed bites, including scallop crudo, croquetas, jamon iberico, tortilla espanola with caviar and Andrés' iconic liquid olives, plus Spanish wines and champagne, through the evening.

The chef's San Laurel restaurant explores California cuisine through a Spanish lens, and it was a show of support for Prince Harry to attend the party there.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been friends with restaurateur and humanitarian Andrés, 56, for several years. His World Central Kitchen nonprofit was the first partner of their charity Archewell Philanthropies, which was previously called the Archewell Foundation, which they founded after stepping back from their royal roles in 2020.

Prince Harry and Meghan, 44, teamed up with Andrés' World Central Kitchen to assist with relief efforts in the wake of the devastating California wildfires in January 2025. The couple visited World Central Kitchen's hub in Pasadena to distribute food and supplies to victims of the Eaton Fire and later met up with Andrés at the food stations to thank relief teams.

Exclusively speaking to PEOPLE about that experience, Andrés said of Harry and Meghan then, "I mean, listen, I consider them friends. I know they are in the spotlight — not just in America, but in Britain — and what I can tell you from what I know is that they don't have to, but they decide to do it."

More recently, the celebrity chef joined a season 2 episode of Meghan's lifestyle series With Love, Meghan, which premiered on Netflix in August 2025.

There, the Duchess of Sussex named the seafood that Prince Harry isn't into while the pair shared the kitchen.

"You know who doesn't like lobster? My husband," Meghan said about Harry.

"And you married him anyway?" Andrés joked in reply, which made her laugh.
