Jonathan Majors and costar JC Kilcoyne fell several feet through a glass window while shooting an upcoming movie from The Daily Wire

The reported fall marked one of several alleged on-set incidents that have raised safety concerns

Crew members walked off set after the incident between Majors and Kilcoyne, and a strike had already been called due to labor issues

Jonathan Majors and his costar fell through a window on the set of their latest film — marking one of several alleged instances that led to crew members walking off the movie's set.

The incident took place when the actor, 36, and JC Kilcoyne were shooting the project from Dallas Sonnier’s production company, Bonfire Legend, and The Daily Wire, the right-wing media company co-founded by Ben Shapiro, according to Deadline.

Majors and Kilcoyne appeared to be filming a scene in which guns were fired at their characters, footage shared by Deadline shows.

After the faux gunfire rang out, the duo backed up into a tempered glass window, which then dislodged, sending both the glass sheet and actors tumbling to the ground, according to the outlet.

Several people could then be seen rushing over to where the incident occurred, per the video footage.

According to Deadline, the window had previously been replaced with an unsecured glass sheet, which was meant to be shattered while filming a different stunt. The actors fell about six feet to the ground, the outlet reported.

Following the incident, Kilcoyne required stitches “all over his hands,” sources told Deadline. Reps for the actor told Deadline and Variety that he is “doing well and was taken care of immediately by production.”

Kilcoyne’s reps also said that the actor, who is done filming the feature, “did not feel unsafe on set and continued to have a positive experience working on the project.”

The actor's representatives, as well as those for Majors and The Daily Wire, did not respond to PEOPLE's requests for comment on Saturday, April 4.

The incident on the South Carolina set of the movie is one of several that led the movie’s crew to walk out and strike due to safety concerns, per Variety and Deadline.

Caution arose due to props falling on crew members, as well as black mold that infested a shooting location, Deadline reported. (Producers sought to film in the spot even after a contractor’s warnings of asbestos, and crew members later discovered the mold on their own while preparing the space, the outlet said.)

The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) had previously called a strike against the production on March 26 over a series of labor issues, which gained traction after the window incident involving Majors and Kilcoyne, Deadline reported.

Producers have not denied any of the allegations laid out in the outlet's report.

Dallas Sonnier, a producer for Bonfire Legend, told PEOPLE in a statement, "The actors’ fall was shorter than the failed movie careers of the now-union reps.”

In a statement to Deadline on Friday, April 3, Sonnier said: “The entire industry is in freefall due to strikes, and now that their members are out of work, they’re trying to sabotage the few people who are still producing. We don’t negotiate with communists.”

Sonnier previously said, after Deadline first reported IATSE’s efforts, that he and his fellow producers were “too busy being bad asses, blowing s--- up, flying helicopters, and killing movie terrorists to concern ourselves with four assh---- with signs on the sidewalk and their illegitimate ‘strike.’ ”

According to Deadline, filming has continued on the movie, and the companies behind it are working to replace the striking crew members.

Majors returned to movie theaters with sports drama Magazine Dreams in March 2025. It marked his first starring role since his 2023 assault trial, where he was found guilty of two charges: misdemeanor assault in the third degree, recklessly causing physical injury, as well as harassment in the second degree, after his December 2023 trial.

During those legal proceedings, Majors was also found not guilty of misdemeanor assault in the third degree with intent to cause physical injury and misdemeanor aggravated harassment in the second degree.

The actor, who was slated to star in future Avengers movies, was fired by Marvel Studios immediately after a jury reached the verdict in his trial.
