- John Mulaney presented Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series at the 2026 Emmys.
- The comedian referenced DJ Khaled’s 2014 interview saying he would “never” perform oral sex on a woman.
- “They know there’s often less pressure on them if they do that first,” Mulaney said of the nominees.
John Mulaney became the fan-favorite Emmys presenter early on in the evening when making a joke about ...cunnilingus. Yes, you read that right.
The comedian took the stage on Monday to present the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series and discussed, well, men. Mulaney joked that his category was “the best part of the night” while sarcastically discussing the greatness of men.
“Since the creation of television, men have been historically unrepresented,” he said, getting a huge laugh from Sterling K. Brown. Mulaney continued, praising the “early ‘60s when a man” (Henry Winkler’s Fonzie from *Happy Days*) made his debut. He went on to introduce the “bros” nominated for the award.
“Some of the men in this category do Method acting, and some do regular, less annoying acting,” Mulaney quipped. “But no matter what, when these fellas hit their mark, they know all their lines. Why? Because they started looking at their sides earlier that morning.”

He added, “These men give it all in every single take. Unless the coverage is on the other actor and then they might bounce early, but that’s okay.”
Mulaney took a shot at DJ Khaled as he continued, bringing up a 2014 comment from the musician in which he stated: “Real men don’t go down on their wife.” The comment received raucous laughter from the crowd. Brown, once again, burst out into laughter while Mark Ruffalo was shown nodding along emphatically as Mulaney continued.
“These nominees know that that is BS,” he added. “They know there’s often less pressure on them if they do that first.”
Noah Wyle and his wife, Sara Wells, were shown cracking up. Wells even hid behind her husband to hide her laughter. (Wyle ended up beating out Ruffalo and Brown, along with Gary Oldman and Rufus Sewell.)

Mulaney’s joke about oral sex was in reference to quotes Khaled made on New York Power 105.1’s *Breakfast Club* more than five years ago, which are often resurfaced online.
“If you holding it down for your woman, I feel like the woman should praise,” the musician said at the time, adding that “a man should praise the queen.” How does he do that? By asking: “How was dinner? You like the house you living in? You like all them clothes you getting?”

Khaled revealed that he would “never” perform oral sex on a woman during the same interview.
“You gotta understand, I’m the don. I’m the king,” he continued. “It’s different rules for men. We the king so there’s some things y’all might not wanna do, [but] it gotta get done. I just can’t do what you want me to do. I just can’t.”
