- Guillermo Rodriguez earned one of the lowest scores in *DWTS* history during the season 35 premiere.

- The *Jimmy Kimmel Live* sidekick received a 10 out of 30 for his Cha-Cha.

- His pro Witney Carson, who won last season, seemed surprised.

Guillermo Rodriguez was his charming self on the season 35 premiere of *Dancing With the Stars*, but apparently the judges could only score him on his technical abilities.

The* **Jimmy Kimmel Live* sidekick, 55, looked like he had a fabulous time dancing the Cha-Cha to “Mr. Big Stuff” with his pregnant pro partner, Witney Carson. He moved, he grooved, and he was no doubt hoping for good scores after the judges’ critiques.

“Was the technique there? No. Was the effort there? Absolutely,” Derek Hough told Rodriguez, with Bruno Tonioli adding of the yellow-and-gold-hued disco routine, “Nobody will ever, ever forget this... Technique can only get better.”

Carrie Ann Inaba chimed in to commend Rodriguez for bringing personality to the ballroom.

“It was super entertaining, and every movement that you did was super clearly defined,” Inaba told him. “Every movement was executed with the intention that was proper. Entertainment value and how the audience responds to what you’re doing matters.”

When it came time for the scores, however, the judges changed their tune. Inaba gave Rodriguez a 4, while both Hough and Tonioli gave him 3s. That totaled a 10 out of 30.

The audience booed loudly as Rodriguez muttered, “Oh my god.”

“We got booing here, guys,” cohost Julianne Hough said as host Alfonso Ribeiro added, “Man, it’s getting good in here, baby. It’s getting good.”

Rodriguez’s score is one of the lowest in *DWTS* history, behind only Master P and his partner, Ashly DelGrosso, who earned an 8 out of 30 during week 4 of season 2 in 2006.

“You looked like a child lost at the mall looking for his mother,” Tonioli told Master P at the time. “I can’t judge something that has nothing to judge.”

The late Len Goodman called it “cruel” that the audience would vote him back each week while Inaba tried to soften the blow by telling Master P it was his best dance yet.

At the start of his own journey, Rodriguez was hopeful the judges would enjoy his punchy performances.

“Bruno is like, ‘Try your best. I want you to show it to everybody, to America. What do you have in you?’” Rodriguez told ** earlier this month. “He told me in the morning, he told me, ‘You got to bring sexy back to *Dancing With the Stars*.’”

“Witney is the best,” Rodriguez said on the Tuesday episode. “She’s an example that women can do anything. She’s pregnant and she’s dancing.”
