Aging has many undesirable outcomes, but an extremely saggy neck is one that Donald Trump, or any of us, most likely didn't prepare for.
The president, who turned 80 in June, is no stranger to dealing with his fair share of trolls, but one thing they appeared to have fixated on is his looks, specifically his sagging neck.
Trump is normally seen wearing a navy two-piece suit, a white button-up shirt complete with a red tie, a look he has worn for hundreds of appearances this year. But in recent months, the leader has been savaged for the loose skin spilling out of his collar around his neck, which has been called many things, including a resemblance to part of the female anatomy.

Earlier this month, for example, during the White House Correspondents Dinner, Trump was described as "utterly disgusting" when onlookers felt he made quite an exposing gesture.
A photograph was shared on X, where it quickly garnered substantial traction. Accompanying the image, one user commented, "Trump's neck at the White House Correspondents' dinner was rated NC-17."
The zoomed-in shot of his neck prompted people to draw highly specific parallels. Due to its pink coloring and contours, it was yet again compared to female anatomy.
One X user replied, "Looks like early signs of a yeast infection to me," prompting someone else to joke, "Bet when he sees his self in the mirror he tries to grab it."

"Thought they had to blur those things out," wondered another, with a fourth suggesting, "Time for Trump to disappear for a few days while cosmetic surgery is done to stretch the neck a bit tighter."
With all the speculation swirling, the Mirror US reached out to Dr. Gizem Seymenoglu, a London-based aesthetic practitioner whose consultations are arranged through Longevita, to help get some insight into why Trump's neck looks like this.

Speaking exclusively to the Mirror US, Dr. Gizem said there appears to be no obvious evidence to suggest that Trump’s neck appearance is the result of a failed cosmetic procedure.
“From what is publicly visible, this doesn't appear to be consistent with a cosmetic procedure that has failed. Natural ageing remains the most likely explanation," she explained.
Dr. Gizem then pointed out that, even if someone has had cosmetic treatment in the past, the aging process continues. As a result, changes in the neck over time are not, by themselves, evidence of a complication or an unsuccessful procedure.
“The ageing process doesn't stop after cosmetic treatment. As the years pass, the skin and underlying structures continue to change, so it's entirely possible for the neck to develop more visible laxity over time.”

When it comes to how Trump can fix his undesirable look, Dr. Gizem suggested significant looseness in the neck is generally best addressed with surgery rather than non-surgical treatments, particularly when there is excess skin and muscle laxity.
“When there is significant skin laxity and relaxation of the platysma muscle, the most effective option would usually be a surgical approach, such as a neck lift or facelift with neck rejuvenation,” she said. “Once the looseness is more advanced, non-surgical treatments are unlikely to achieve the same level of correction.”
Dr. Gizem estimated that, based on prices at high-end US cosmetic surgery practices, a possible neck lift or facelift procedure of this type could typically range from around $15,000 to $50,000+, depending on the surgeon, location, complexity and whether multiple areas are treated.
“A neck lift alone in the US can often fall within the $15,000–$30,000 range, while a facelift combined with neck work can reach $30,000–$50,000 or more at premium practices. The final cost depends on the individual treatment plan and the extent of correction required,” she concluded.
