Blake Lively threatened to release her text exchanges with Taylor Swift unless the pop star shared "a statement of support" for Lively amid her legal dispute with Justin Baldoni, according to reports.

Lively, 38, and Swift, 36, formed a notably close and well-documented friendship starting in 2015. However, Lively's legal conflict with her It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni has reportedly affected their relationship.

Baldoni's attorney, Bryan Freedman, claimed a "reliable" source disclosed that Lively's legal team made "extortionate threats" to Swift's counsel, demanding she publicly issue a statement supporting the actress. Should Swift refuse, Lively reportedly said she would reveal "private text messages of a personal nature" exchanged between the pair. It comes as an expert suggested Swift is "taking a four year break" in her career.

Michael Gottlieb, Lively's lawyer, refuted any such threat, declaring, "This is categorically false. We unequivocally deny all of these so-called allegations, which are cowardly sourced to supposed anonymous sources, and completely untethered from reality."

A text message allegedly from Lively to Baldoni seemingly referenced Swift as one of her "dragons" with Lively drawing a parallel to Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones. "I happen to have a few dragons. For better or worse, but usually for better," she allegedly wrote.

This message reportedly pulled Swift deeper into the "drama," supposedly prompting her to "halt" their friendship.

Alongside her "extortionate threats," Lively reportedly insisted Swift issue a statement after they failed to attend the 2025 Super Bowl together. A source told the Daily Mail that Lively requested, through her legal team, that Swift post a message on social media explaining her absence from the game.

"So sad, my bestie couldn't come to the Super Bowl," the requested post is believed to have said.

Lively allegedly threatened to make public "10 years" of private messages between her and Swift if the singer refused to comply with her demand.

A source, however, claimed that Lively's Super Bowl incident was "the ultimate blow to their friendship," describing it as "outrageous.

"Blake has never threatened to leak Taylor's personal or private text messages," a source close to Lively hit back.

Swift and Lively were spotted together at the 2024 Super Bowl, where the pair supported Swift's now-husband Travis Kelce, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs. Swift and Kelce, 36, tied the knot last month in a ceremony at Madison Square Garden attended by 1,000 guests.

Lively was absent from the high-profile wedding. She and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, were in Lake Placid, New York, attending their daughter's equestrian competition.
