Andrea Barber is sharing how she really felt about wearing over-the-top outfits on Full House

Barber starred as the lovable, quirky neighbor Kimmy Gibbler on the series from 1987 to 1995

In a new podcast, she says she often felt "distracted" by her costumes on the show

Andrea Barber is admitting that the costumes she wore as the lovable, quirky neighbor Kimmy Gibbler on Full House were so over-the-top that she often "hated" them.

Speaking on the Tuesday, June 2 episode of the Full House rewatch podcast How Rude, Tanneritos!, Barber, 49 and Scott Weinger (who played Steve Hale on the series) discussed season 6, episode 22: "Prom Night."

"I'm so distracted by my costume in this scene, where it's so loud," Barber noted of one scene in the episode. "I got pool balls on my shorts. I got a crazy denim jacket with all sorts of decals over it."

After Weinger interjected to note that Barber's Full House outfits "were always kinda crazy," Barber responded: "They were always kinda crazy, but they get progressively worse as we get closer and closer to the end of the series."

"So this one I did not love, you know, we're entering the era where I hated almost all of my costumes, and this was definitely on that list," Barber said.

Barber recently reflected on the era in which she filmed the show and the lasting imprint that it left on her life. Speaking with Entertainment Tonightat American Idol’s ‘90s night in April, she said she felt a deep sense of nostalgia not just for the show, but for the decade itself.

“I miss the '90s. It was, like, the last innocent decade before the world got really heavy,” Barber told the outlet. “And it just brings about comfort and safety and love, and what's not to love about that.”

Full House aired from 1987 to 1995, and its follow-up, Fuller House, aired from 2016 to 2020.

Asked by a fan whether they would consider reviving their characters again, Barber and her co-star and podcast co-host Jodie Sweetin have not ruled it out.

"We need some more time. It's too soon," Sweetin, 43, said in an earlier episode of the pod. "But I absolutely would do it. Again, if we could come back and like, finally, I feel like do that ridiculous sort of adult sitcom because then we would be ... you know, give us another 15 years or whatever."

Added Barber: "That's the challenge is because if we follow the format, Fullest House would focus on our kids. But I think the audience, like the OG Full House audience, they're invested in the OG characters."
